The Last Bus
August 3, 2016

Standing on the beach, with water kissing my feet,
The deep orange Sun setting in front of me.
The day was bright, the night will be cold,
But for the last bus that I missed taking.

The mountains are big and beautiful,
Where my destination lies at the top.
I should have been there by nightfall,
But for the last bus that I missed taking.

The ride was fun, the ride was fast,
The morning breeze was cool and the path, clear.
I was sure to reach the peak early,
But for the last bus that I missed taking.

The depth of sea, attracted me to her beauty,
Calm but capable of unleashing fury.
I would have missed this wonderful moment,
But for the last bus that I missed taking.

The mountains are known and explored,
The sea is unknown and deep.
A new journey awaits, the old one behind,
But for the last bus that I missed taking.

The night will be cold and cruel,
But the dawn will bring out the rising Sun.
A calm sea and a smooth journey is what I now desire,
But for the last bus that I missed taking.
